Eyes are very important to give a character personality.
Although, in my opinion, the resulting eye is not quite as realistic as the one created in this other eye tutorial, this one is also good looking, and more cartoony.
However, what’s more interesting about this tutorial is that it covers the complete creation of the eye texture, in [...]

In animation, the way the camera moves can be used to transmit great life and emotion. Specially, shaking cameras are widely used in various circumstances.
In this tutorial, three different shaking camera effects are achieved:
First, when a massive object falls on the floor close to the camera, the camera shakes, as if affected by the vibration.
Second, [...]

For me, modelling sports balls is kind of fun. It’s like a puzzle, where you’ve got to have the correct topology, and still keep it perfectly round (except for rugby), hence the methods to do so are often quite ingenious.
So, here you’ve got a nice way to model a football.
It’s interesting the way a icosphere [...]

In this tutorial, the author uses this tool to sketch buildings and trees in a scene, to help its planning, as you can see in the image.
It’s a nice overview of the features and usefulness of the grease pencil, that had its capabilities updated in 2.5.
In part 2, the author teaches you some more tricks [...]

To get nice mirrored objects render, one needs something to render. Light helps, too.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to add any image to be reflected on an object, and then spice it up in the Video Sequence editor, with the glow effect. The resulting effect is very flashy , with very fast render times.
What I [...]

There’s no doubt that the eyes are one of the most important features of a character. Thus, if done wrong, they can provide with ugly, zombie like results, or worse (?). So, knowing how to create good looking eyes is crucial to any user planning to do humanoids, or other animals.
Although the tutorial results in [...]

Imagine you have a mesh, but you want it to change its shape in an animation. It’s easy with shape keys, and that’s what this short tutorial explains. A box “magically” changes its shape and size.

Although 2.5 is already able to create good looking smoke, knowing “old” techniques doesn’t hurt, in fact, it only makes us more open-minded, and versatile. This method uses spheres as particles, with an SSS material. Then it’s defocused and displaced with nodes, recurring to a blur node and a displace node. Interesting technique, that gives [...]

A method that gives fast render times, using extruded curves as instanced objects to look like 3d grass. Very easy to set up, and gives quite nice results. Also, it’s very versatile, as it can be used to any kind of repeatable groups of objects, like rocks, flowers, mushrooms, whatever, even softbodies. My result on [...]
